We offer a wide range of rental bikes so you can experience all that the Santa Cruz area has to offer. Rent electric and traditional mountain bikes as well as electric assist hybrid bikes from our Santa Cruz location, and electric and traditional mountain bikes from our Aptos location. Stay tuned, as rental bikes are also coming to our Monterey store!

Full Suspension Electric Mountain Bike

Fuel EX 9.7 is a lightweight, fast and fun trail bike that carves corners and charges through rock gardens with ease.

Trek X-Caliber 8
Hardtail Mountain Bike
X-Caliber 8 is a cross country mountain bike made for fast laps and long days on the trail for new riders to advanced.

Mountain Bike Size Charts
The chart below shows recommended sizes based on height, but there are some other factors, like arm and leg length, that determine a great fit. That’s why you’ll see some overlap in our recommendations. Not every rider who’s 5´8˝, for example, will fit on the same size bike. If you have any question about what the right size bike is for you, contact our crew at either location and we can help you figure it out!

Accident Coverage
Accident coverage available: Hard-tail $10 (covers up to $150 in damage); full suspension $15 (covers up to $300 in damage). You will have the option to purchase Accident Coverage when booking your rental.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds are only made in event of cancellation due to acts of nature.
Rides from Epicenter
Our knowledgeable crew members can help you find the perfect trail to ride. Stop in for route recommendations, trail condition updates or to pick up a map. We have a large selection of road touring, mountain bike touring and bay area trail maps at both Epicenter locations. Proceeds from local state park maps go toward funding these amazing parks.
Santa Cruz Location: If you're in the Santa Cruz area, you can ride directly from our shop on Mission Street into Wilder Ranch State Park, or up the Emma McCrary mountain bike trail. For a relaxing ride around town, rent a cruiser and take a spin along the beautiful West Cliff Drive bike path to the Santa Cruz Wharf and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Popular road rides include Swanton loop and Empire Grade.
Aptos Location: Our shop is conveniently located at the entrance to one of the best parks in Santa Cruz - so you can head out from our Aptos shop right into Nisene Marks State Park or catch a ride up to the renowned single-track and flow trail at Soquel Demonstration State Forest with our shuttle service Epicenter Shuttle. Popular road rides include the Eureka Canyon Road and the Brown Valley - Hazel Dell loop.
Epicenter Shuttle
COVID-19 UPDATE: The shuttle is not currently operating due to the pandemic.
Catch a comfortable, scenic lift from our Aptos store to the top of the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, from which point you can take on the renowned singletrack loops at Soquel Demonstration State Forest before enjoying a beautiful descent through the redwoods back to the shop.
You may now book shuttles at epicentershuttle.com or by clicking the button below. The cost is $25 per person.* Shuttle service is from our Aptos location only.
* The $25 rate applies only if a total of three or more bookings have been made on a particular shuttle. If only two bookings have been made, the cost increases to $30; and if only one booking is made, the cost is $60. Shuttlers have the option to cancel their reservations if the minimum of three bookings has not been met, and they do not want to pay the extra cost. We will contact you with plenty of notice to discuss options in the event a shuttle does not look like it will meet minimum booking requirements.
